Policy
Thank you for choosing Upstage Music Co. to learn and grow as a musician. In order to provide every student with the most effective, creative, and supportive learning environment possible, we have established the following studio policies.
Tuition Structure & Schedule
Our studio operates on a year-round schedule designed to provide consistent musical growth for students.
- The studio offers 45 weeks of lessons each year.
- Lessons are offered year-round, including summer.
- Tuition is divided into 12 equal monthly payments.
- Payments are due by the first lesson of each month and no later than the 8th of the month.
- Tuition payments are non-refundable.
If you choose to discontinue lessons, you are welcome to continue attending lessons through the month that has already been paid.
Flat Monthly Tuition
The monthly tuition rate is calculated by taking the total number of yearly lessons (45 weeks) and dividing that cost into 12 equal payments.
Because of this structure:
- The monthly tuition amount remains the same regardless of how many lessons occur within a particular month.
- Lessons continue throughout the entire year, including summer.
This structure helps keep tuition consistent and predictable for families.
Make-Up Lessons
Due to the structure of our classes, make-up lessons are not typically offered.
However:
- Students may join another group lesson during the week if their teacher has an available opening.
- If a teacher needs to cancel a lesson, a make-up time will be offered or a tuition reimbursement will be provided.
What Monthly Tuition Covers
Your monthly tuition includes more than just weekly lesson time. It also helps support the full musical experience provided by the studio.
Tuition covers:
- Weekly music lessons
- Recitals and performances
- Materials used during lessons
- Registration for formal performances
- Reserved lesson time and studio scheduling
Studio Health & Safety Guidelines
To maintain a healthy environment for both students and teachers, we ask that families follow these guidelines:
- Please do not bring your child to lessons if they are sick.
- Students should remain home if they have had a fever or vomiting within the previous 24 hours.
- Students should also remain home if they have contagious conditions such as ringworm, lice, pink eye, or anything that could be passed to others.
- Please remind your child to use the restroom and wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before their lesson.
These precautions help protect everyone in the studio community.
Enrollment
There are no contracts and no long-term commitments required.
- Enrollment is open year-round, and students are welcome to join at any time.
