FAQs

Getting started with music lessons should feel exciting, not overwhelming. We’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions about lessons, scheduling, and what to expect at Upstage Music Co.

If you’re still unsure about anything, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help you every step of the way.

We offer lessons in piano, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, cello, songwriting, and voice. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s interests and goals.

Absolutely! We encourage students to compose their own melodies and songs. Our teachers provide the techniques and tools to help them express their creativity.

Students explore a variety of genres, including classical, jazz, rock, and pop. This helps them develop a well-rounded understanding of music.

Private lessons are 30 minutes long and meet weekly (minus calendar breaks).

There are 45 lessons in our studio year. We are open all year long. Our breaks generally follow the De Pere school district holiday breaks.

After you fill out an inquiry form, call, or text, we will find a time and date that works best with your availability. After that, you will need to fill out a student registration form (we will email, or text you the link). Please note: you are not on the schedule until after you have filled out the registration form and we have confirmed your start day and time.

We do not offer make up lessons, except in the case of teacher cancellations.

Lessons are month to month. You are always welcome to stop at anytime, however we are unable to refund you for the current lesson month.

We enroll all year long!

While many months do have 4 lessons in them, some months have more, such as March, and some months have less, such as December.

Yes! We have a June recital every year. We also generally have other performance opportunities throughout the year.

You do not need an instrument to start lessons, however you will want to get one soon after starting, for at home practice.

Band & Orchestra Rentals: Rent-to-own plans are available with guaranteed pricing, making it easy and affordable to begin lessons.

Instrument Pricing: Prices vary depending on the instrument. For example, ukuleles may start around $99, while specialized instruments like bass guitars can exceed $1,300.

We had a great experience working with Kayla Peeters Music. Our daughter age 9 decided she wanted to take up the piano. We had Mr. Worm who was extremely patient as well as catered to our daughter's interest in music. After several months our daughter decided that piano was not for her but I would highly recommend Kayla Peeter's Music for anyone who is interested in learning a new instrument.

Our children have LOVED taking lessons with Kayla...and I might add that I also brushed up some of my high school piano skills with Kayla. Not only is Kayla a brilliantly beautiful pianist, she is a lovely, caring, and engaging teacher as well!

Kayla Peeters is extremely talented. I enjoy following her and listening to her live streams whenever possible. Very talented at both being a pianist and vocalist. It’s a very pleasant experience listening to Kayla.

Kayla encompasses everything you’d ever want in a person teaching your child(ren) the ins and outs of music education. Our daughters benefitted so much from having this education early on (started at age 5) and we truly feel it helped them further their growth and development overall. She is kind to the kids and families and definitely someone you want your child(ren) learning from. Can’t say enough good things about Kayla and her teaching! 10/10 recommend her every time.

My kids have been taking lessons with Ms Kayla since 2019 and have learned so much. They may not always want to practice at home but they have never complained about going to her home studio for lessons each week. She also has beautiful music that we enjoy streaming on Amazon Music while we do our homeschool lessons.
