Future Upstage Musicians Littles Class (Ages 3–6)
What Parents Can Expect
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Upstage Future Musicians! I am so excited to begin this musical journey with your child. Our Little Musicians Class is designed to introduce young children to the joy of music through movement, singing, rhythm, creativity, and hands-on piano exploration in a fun, nurturing, and age-appropriate environment.
At this age, children learn best through play, repetition, imagination, and movement. Our classes are carefully designed to build a strong musical foundation while helping children grow in confidence, focus, coordination, and self-expression.
What Your Child Will Experience
Each week your child will participate in activities that may include:
- 🎵 Welcome songs and musical greetings
- 🎵 Rhythm games using clapping, tapping, and percussion instruments
- 🎵 Singing, listening, and ear-training activities
- 🎵 Movement, dance, scarves, and musical storytelling
- 🎵 Piano and keyboard exploration
- 🎵 Learning musical opposites such as high/low, fast/slow, loud/soft
- 🎵 Creative improvisation and musical play
- 🎵 Group activities that encourage social skills and teamwork
Every class is interactive, energetic, and designed to keep young learners engaged.
Skills We Will Build
Throughout the program, your child will begin developing:
- A love and appreciation for music
- Steady beat and rhythm skills
- Listening and concentration
- Fine and gross motor coordination
- Early piano and keyboard awareness
- Musical vocabulary and understanding
- Confidence performing in front of others
- Creativity and self-expression
- Following directions and classroom routines
Most importantly, they will begin seeing themselves as musicians.
What Progress Looks Like
Every child learns differently, and progress in early childhood music often happens in small but meaningful steps.
Some children may jump right in. Others may watch quietly before participating. Both are completely normal.
You may notice your child:
- Singing songs at home
- Tapping rhythms on tables or toys
- Moving to music more naturally
- Talking about high and low sounds
- Pretending to “teach” music at home
- Becoming more confident week by week
These are wonderful signs of musical growth.
How Parents Can Help at Home
You play an important role in your child’s musical success. You can support them by:
- Asking them to share what they learned in class
- Singing class songs together
- Listening to music at home
- Encouraging short, fun practice moments
- Celebrating effort, participation, and creativity
At this age, fun and consistency matter more than perfection.
Class Expectations
To help every child have the best experience, please:
- Arrive on time
- Use the restroom before class
- Dress your child in comfortable clothes for movement
- Bring any requested materials
- Notify me if your child will be absent
- Encourage your child with positive words before and after class
Our Mission at Upstage Future Musicians
At Upstage Future Musicians, we believe music is about much more than learning notes. We are building confidence, creativity, discipline, joy, and a lifelong love of music.
My goal is to create a safe, encouraging space where every child feels successful, valued, and excited to learn.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your child’s musical journey. I cannot wait to watch them grow into confident little musicians!
Musically yours,
Kayla Peeters
